Steven “Ziggy” Shanklin – CEO, Founder and Architect

Ziggy is a veteran technology executive and accomplished team builder with over 43 years of experience in computer networking and software development. He has held key leadership roles—including Engineer, IT & Engineering Manager, VP of Engineering, and CEO—across eight different startups. Notably, he led development at WheelGroup and Psionic, both of which were acquired by Cisco Systems in 1998 and 2002, respectively. Ziggy holds eight U.S. patents and one Canadian patent in cybersecurity technologies, underscoring his commitment to innovation in the field. Before founding White Cloud Security, he served as VP of Engineering at CoreTrace Corporation. His leadership experience also includes roles as Director of Software Development at both WheelGroup Corporation/Cisco Systems and Psionic Technologies/Cisco Systems. Throughout his career, Ziggy has consistently driven product innovation, scaled engineering teams, and delivered secure, high-performance solutions that have made a lasting impact on the cybersecurity industry.

Jim McLendon – Chief Operating Officer

USAF Colonel (Retired), retired from a distinguished career in physical, operational, and cyber security which spanned 43 years of leadership and accomplishments in both the military and corporate world. In the USAF, Col. McLendon was the senior officer and Commander of what is now known as NSA Texas. This was a diverse and geographically distributed collection of organizations comprising more than 2,100 highly technical IT and cybersecurity personnel charged with the responsibility of protecting USAF networks. Following his military service, Jim was hired by AXENT Technologies as VP of Operations where he was responsible for the company’s computer security consulting practices throughout North America. When AXENT was acquired by Symantec, Jim became the VP of Managed Security Services and two years later was promoted to VP of Global Business Development at Symantec.

Steven Snapp – Chief Technology Officer and Founder

Over 20 years’ experience in the computer security industry at both small and large companies developing state of the art intrusion detection and application whitelisting technologies. Principal security engineer at three computer security startups. Two U.S. patents and one Canadian patent for security. Most recently, Steve was a lead engineer and Windows kernel developer at CoreTrace Corporation, and is well versed on the challenges of implementing and managing application whitelisting technology. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Colorado State University and a Master of Science in computer science from the University of California, Davis.

Rob Clyde, CISM – Executive Chair

Previously the Chief Technical Officer of Symantec, CEO of Adaptive Computing, Co-Founder of AXENT. At AXENT, Rob worked with Jim McLendon, where their team took AXENT to a successful IPO and an eventual acquisition by Symantec for $1B. As CTO at Symantec, he was a key member of the management team that drove its growth from slightly under $1B in revenue to over $5B. While at Symantec, he also served as a founding Board Member and the Treasurer for the IT Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC), a non-profit IT industry organization and a founding Board Member of SAFE code. Rob has over three decades of security software executive experience, and has been closely involved in and driven the acquisitions of over 25 companies. Rob is the Executive Chair of White Cloud Security’s Board of Directors.

Troy Perkins - VP Cybersecurity

Formerly Chief Technical Officer and founder of CLEC & MSSP SOCOM Systems, Troy brings nearing 30 years of experience in securing infrastructures for companies such as Capital Group American Funds, Capital Guardian Trust Company, Q2 Software, and S1 Corp's C&R banking vertical. Troy worked with Ziggy Shanklin at Cisco Systems Inc. and two startups acquired by Cisco Systems — Wheelgroup in 1998 and Psionic in 2002 — His career spans roles as an Engineer, Quality Assurance, CTO, CIO, and Director of Security Posture Assessments and Incident Response across various sectors including internet services, telecommunications, healthcare, legal, media, marketing and financial.

Miguel Gonzalez - Senior Director, Cybersecurity Programs – LATAM Region

Miguel holds a Bachelor of Business degree in Information Technology and specialized in Cyber Security at a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in San Antonio, Texas. He also served as a Technical Mentor for high school students in the Cyber Patriot Program. With a passion for developing future cybersecurity professionals, Miguel has trained and guided countless individuals in building skills and launching careers. He stays sharp by tracking emerging threats, reverse-engineering technology, and delivering cybersecurity talks in both English and Spanish. He has competed in cybersecurity challenges for nearly a decade. A relentless learner, Miguel has completed more than 100 online courses covering information technology, software engineering, database management, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and related fields. Miguel brings deep, hands-on experience in Incident Response, Application Control, Threat Hunting, Malware Analysis, and Web Application Penetration Testing. He holds six industry certifications and continues to pursue additional credentials.
